TENEK Ice Fields (2007)

Borrowing the distinctive bassline from SIMPLE MINDS’ 1981 single ‘Love Song’, Geoff Pinckney and Peter Steer put together this lively instrumental for their debut TENEK EP. With a modern mechanical groove coupled to their trademark synth rock, the almost funky ‘Ice Fields’ became an early live favourite, although the duo have focussed on more song based adventures for their three albums to date, ‘Stateless’, ‘On The Wire’ and ‘Smoke & Mirrors’.

A Short Conversation with TENEK

Tenek_Promo_2015-2Since the release of their third album ‘Smoke & Mirrors’ in Autumn 2015 and a triumphant launch event at The Garage in London, things have been comparatively quiet for TENEK.

But Geoff Pinckney and Pete Steer are now back with their 2011 song ‘What Do You Want?’ included on the forthcoming compilation ‘The Electricity Club to be released on Undo Records and the release of a new EP ‘Imitation Of Life’ with an accompanying promo video.

And after a hiatus from the gig circuit, live performances have been promised for 2017. TENEK kindly chatted to The Electricity Club about the genesis of ‘What Do You Want?’ and their upcoming plans.
